Franklin Pierce University proudly celebrated the official ribbon-cutting of its new Academic Center in Round Rock, Texas, on Tuesday, February 18.
The Round Rock Academic Center serves as the hub for Franklin Pierce’s innovative Hybrid Texas Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program, which combines online learning with in-person immersion experiences, allowing students to gain hands-on clinical training while maintaining the flexibility to learn from their home communities. The immersive weeks in Texas provide an essential opportunity for students to refine their skills, collaborate with faculty, and engage in critical hands-on experiences. The ribbon-cutting took place during the second immersion week for the inaugural cohort of MPAS students and marks the University's continued commitment to expanding access to high-quality healthcare education and preparing the next generation of physician assistants.
“This new academic center is a testament to Franklin Pierce University’s dedication to advancing healthcare education and meeting the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals,” said Dr. Peter Eden, President of Franklin Pierce University. “By providing a flexible, high-quality program, we are not only supporting the career aspirations of our students but also addressing the healthcare needs of communities across the country.”
The event featured remarks from President Eden, Program Director Joseph Hlavin, Ph.D., and Jordan Robinson, President from the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, recognizing the center’s role in strengthening the regional healthcare education landscape.
Attendees had the opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art facility and speak with students, gaining firsthand insight into their experiences within the program.
“The Round Rock Academic Center is an important milestone in our journey to educate future physician assistants,” said Dr. Hlavin. “Our hybrid approach allows students to balance their education with their personal and professional responsibilities while ensuring they receive the hands-on training necessary to excel in their careers.”
Franklin Pierce University’s Hybrid MPAS program was developed to meet the needs of working professionals and aspiring healthcare providers who require a flexible yet rigorous educational experience. With the opening of the Round Rock Academic Center, the University continues to uphold its mission of providing students with the knowledge and skills to serve their communities effectively.
The University looks forward to welcoming its second cohort in March, further expanding opportunities for future healthcare professionals.
